Ear Plugs in Bulk

A while back Dad started buying ear plugs ... in bulk. When I questioned him on this purchase he simply said it was Mom's fault as she was starting to snore in her old age plus she had a head cold and he needed to get solid sleep ASAP!! A few weeks passed, Mom's cold went away and he was still using the ear plugs.

Side note: Macho was very excited about Dad using these earplugs as he would slink into Mom & Dads room during the day to look for a treat and has since decided that the neon pink & yellow ear plugs that Dad leaves on the bedside table are a perfect mid morning snack. He chews them like gum and his body doesn't digest them. Ew & Weird!

Now I think this might be a coincidence but when I told Morty about the bulk ear plug buying he told me straight away and in no uncertain terms that it was due to my new after school activity... playing in the band! I couldn't believe it. Sure, my parents have forbidden me to do my music homework on the recorder but lets be honest, they aren't the only parents to do that. I decided to ignore Morty's rude comments (as always) and just assume he was in a jerky mood.

A couple weeks later our band concert date finally arrived and I couldn't wait to show everyone that I was officially in a band, playing the Flute like I had always dreamed of and Maeve and I were going to do a duet piece at the concert for all ears to hear.

All the band parents came and there was soooo much whispering going on in the crowd that I began to feel really nervous. Thank goodness Maeve was there to make me laugh or I might have freaked out. The duet didn't really go as well as I hope but we did the best we could.

Looking back, maybe it was kind of screechy and off tune but still, Dad was smiling so how bad could it have been?

Morty says I should have checked his ears for neon pink buds but I think he was just trying to rile me up.... right??!!
