Gingerbread Houses Galore

Every year we are so excited to decorate gingerbread houses during the holiday season. We actually decorate gingerbread houses at least twice each holiday season because we love it SO much. Today I started to ask myself why we do this. Yes, its fun to play with your food. Yes, its a form of of festive art (and you know I LOVE art!) and yes its fun to do with your friends or family. The part that I can't quite get my mind around is that we made these yummy, adorable houses and then no one can eat them!! They sit our collecting dog hair & dust and are inevitably covered in spit from all the times we have licked our hands while creating them. so what I am telling you is that its a colossal waste of food and money. Don't get me wrong, we are still totally doing them this year - Im just stating the obvious.

Last year we had two rounds of Gingerbread House construction. The first one was with Dad and we made them at the Companion baking facility. Its was so awesome to be in a real bakery, creating treats!!

It was super fun to have Dad there with us. He likes to break all the rules but snagging candies to eat while decorating.

A rare family snap!

I think we did one hell of a job and I can't wait to out-decorate Morty again this year!

Cant you imagine the level of dog hair that must stick to this once its on our kitchen counter for a few days. Ew!

And if 3 hours of Gingerbread fun wasn't enough? 6 Days later, Mom had a Gingerbread house making party at our house too. I think she might need to lay off the Eggnog. At least it meant that we could hang with the Frisellas outside of school I guess.
