Catching up, deuce

When 2015 came to a close, I have to say I wasn't all that sad to see it go.
We started the holiday season off right (thanks to Magboot & Mr Todd) and sent out yet another epic holiday card and even Macho was in on the fun this time!!

One of my all time favorite parts about the holiday season is The Elf on the Shelf. Snowflake is so funny. I dont really understand how she manages to do all of these things without making noise at night but it's awesome! Morty thinks she is riot too! (who taught this kid how to smile?)

The holiday season is always full of lots of activities and this year I think Mom went a bit nuts. She had TWO gingerbread house making days just so everyone could join in on the fun!

The school festivities and plays were pretty awesome as well this year.  Morty (aka Meowty, due to the amount of meowing he has been doing ... dont ask!) was a reindeer in his class play and we were all rolling in the aisles with what goofballs he and Landon were being.

I had mixed feelings about returning to the The Cape but it turned out to be a true way to find closure. Seeing the beach in the winter months can really help ones soul too. That and xmas cookies with yoga of course! Happy 2016!

The best part of starting a new year is the birthdays that ensue two weeks into the new year. First its Martha's, then Hawker's, then MY half birthday!! This year the theme was camping (more like "glamping" according to Daddy) Mom decided that it was a bit too chilly to really sleep outside and because I wanted a sleepover she knew having separate spaces was the only I might possibly fall asleep before 2am. Stella, Maeve, Greta and I had sooo much fun and have the selfies to prove it (even Ruby Lou joined in on the fun!) Ms. Erwin helped to keep the peace and she is always soooo nice!

Then Comes Mousse's real birthday and Mortys HALF birthday. Kid;s half birthdays are big in our house because we are always on Cape Cod when our birthdays roll around so we can't do a party or celebration with my friends at the time. Morty doesn't really like to be celebrated with his friends so having Mousse be his birthday bud is just about perfect for him.

Not long after the birthdays were over did we really discover what Snapchat had to offer or Mom was just holding out on us- totally likely.

As the winter got colder and grayer, this was somehow a queue to Mortys mouth to start losing teeth. Of course it freaked Mom out (again) that her baby Morty was becoming a true big kid but that didnt stop Mrs. Skippy Kiefer from getting out her Magic Hanky to help Mo twist and turn his teeth until they popped free! Tooth #1 was a goner in no time!!

As springtime rolled around there was only one sport both Morty and I HAD to do ... Basketball!
This year I even got out on the court and made a few baskets. Morty might be a better shooter than I am but I can intimidate (especially with wild Maevey Lou on my team!)

2016 has only just gotten started, stay tuned...
