Golden Gate Love

The Goldengate Bridge represents a lot of things to many different people.
To me, it represents love, discovery, new life, beauty, art and so much more.

Our Dad is a huge fan of this bridge, as was my Grandad and my Great Grandad.
They are and were all drawn to it. In fact, when I was only a week old my Dad took my mom and tiny little me on a "Forced March" from our house all the way across the bridge. This was our first jaunt together and from what I was told, it made everyone feel a little less worried about being a new family. To successfully get out and visit such a beautiful piece of art that always seems to be wrapped in a blanket of fog and interest was soothing somehow and still is.

A few weeks ago my Dad brought us all back the glorious international orange structure, but via a new route. You see my dad loves nature and he's really good at finding the secret, quiet, more beautiful ways to make the journey. He likes to take the long way (if its by foot or bike) Sure, it might be more treterous, full of snakes, insects and poison ivy but its also much more memorable and full of natural beauty that makes your heart thump. He's good like that.

Thank you Dada, for showing us the paths WORTH taking.

We love you. Happy Fathers Day!!
