Okay, you will NOT believe what I am about to tell you! Okay, you might - but only because Ia m so delayed in writing this post. Like 10 months delayed but still, we were shocked!!!
We are moving back to California! Can you believe it!!??
I have to say that I wasn't on board at first. Mom and Dad told me by themselves (no Morty) to see what I thought about it and I freaked. The idea of no Maeve in my every day life was more than I could bare. Compounding that was no family near by, no Sunday dinners with Gamma or hugs at school from leila and Landon, and the list goes on.
Do you know what Mortys response was when they told him.....one word .
YES!!!!!!!!
After we talked it over and and then over some more, we decided to go look at some schools and see where mom and dad wanted to live. They told me it was really close to my friend Kate (my freind since birth!) and I started to feel much better. Next stop was to test out the schools, so off we went!
Morty needed to make a pit stop before we got on the plane. Classy Mo, real classy.
Mom and I sat together on the plane and we talked about all our worries about moving and it made me feel better that she had worries too.
When we arrived, it was like every other trip to SF. We stayed in the city and saw the Ghirardelli Christmas Tree, made Morty sandos on the couch and and did our polar bear dip in Aquatic Park. Success!
Everything changed the next day when we headed over the glorious Goldengate Bridge and to out new house. It was way cooler than I thought, it had an awesome yard we knew the dogs would love, we could walk to dinner and the neighborhood had sidewalks and kids all around.
It even had two tangerine trees!!
There was a bike path just down the street from our house and we could hear kids playing in the nearby school, not to mention FroYo less than a half mile from the house!!
Best Part? This sweet friend Kate lives less than a mile away!! How cool is that?!
I know it won't be an easy transition and my parents know that and feel that too, but after our trip out west - visiting schools, seeing our new house and all the places we could walk, ride, scoot and play outside made it a little less painful.
I hope everyone will come visit and I know that it will be a pretty great life.
Life is meant to be lived and experienced from many perspectives.
California or bust!
