Another Surgery Day!

I'm not sure why it happens this way but autumn is generally when the males in the family like to schedule their surgeries. In this instance poor little Mo had to have another surgery on his bum (we'll leave it at that so he has some privacy) It was only a 15 minute surgery but he still had to be fully put under and because of this he had to fast the night before.

You can tell here that Morty without food isn't dealing too well. We sort of just gave him a wide birth and left him to groan on an empty belly. It was so sad to watch.

Once at the hospital Morty was given an iPad! say what?? They say that kids who have a distraction while getting medicine or being admitted have less stress if they can be distracted. Thumbs up for this idea. How do I tell Mom & Dad I would be less stressed with more iPad time?

Because he was going under they had to pull out his disgusting wiggly tooth. Mom thought this was the best part about the whole day. That tooth was so wiggly it would dangle in the wind and grossing everyone out!

Morty came out of the surgery and did so well, but the little guy didn't want to wake up. He took an extra 45 minutes to rouse and was a total zombie afterwards.

As the day went on and he came home, he perked up and I was so glad to have him home. How glad you ask? I let him in my room, wear my towel head wrap and gave him a hug while he was wearing just a towel as Daddy was reading my favorite book series: A land of Stories.

OH yes - Dad was STILL in a boot from his September surgery, ouch! (poor guy!)
