September is a bittersweet month in our house. It means that summer is officially over, even if the weather doesn't agree. I love that we get to see our St. Louis friends again but I hate going back to school for MATH! Why do I need math anyway?! Multiplication is my nemesis and I completely plan on keeping up the rebellion against Math homework at all cost. I will say that in September there lots of days off of school, warm summer nights and field trips galore.
I think that every school should be an outdoor classroom. When i grow up and become an Art Teacher, we are totally going to take advantage of the outdoors!
2016 September Happenings (recap)
September means haircuts for all. All the guys in our family go to see Lucas and he does an excellent job of making them look less like "Farmer Dan" and more like they have a bit of style.

First field trip for Morty was to the incredible STL Zoo. I was super bummed they got to go to the Zoo and research/Draw their animals of choice. Sure, it was a miserably hot day but look how close they got toe seal show!
Poor Dad's September was not off to a hot start. Daddy literally blew out his ankle tendon (like ripped string cheese, ew!) and had yet another surgery. We kept him company by watching shows with him in bed and bringing him frozen fruit.
Morty played soccer again this year and do you know who his coaches were this year?/!! Mommy and Mr. Traube! (Wilson must have been really desperate, right?!) It was super annoying to have to be dragged to the soccer field every Saturday in the midday heat but we made the best of it. Sure, they only won one game (a team No showed!) but they played their hearts out and occasionally Morty was given the forbidden Gatorade for which he is now obsessed!! The upside is that Maeve often played on the field next to us so Id go and cheer her on and distract her when she was on the sidelines.
As you undoubtedly know, this was my 5th year playing field hockey and I have to say that while I thought about quitting the season went well with my new coach. Coach Lauren was really nice and helped me love the game again.
3 Cheers for being back on the Go GO GO schedule!
