June Bug Jones 2016

The best use for Jordan Almonds - of course!

Can you See the heat wave? Smell the chlorine from the pool? Hear the kids singing "Schools out for summer!"? Feel the sunny sun on your face? Taste the Bomb Pop Popsicle before it melts on the floor?

June is the beginning of everything fun in my world. Summer isn't officially under way until later in the month but I say they should move it back to June 1 and stop the nonsense!!

In years past school as let out in the last couple days of May but not for 2016 - no sir! June was just right. We were able to get dressed in shorts (or Short pants as Dad calls them) and sundresses for the School Graduation ceremony. I love listening to all the speeches and of course that means less time in the classroom too!

Pretty spiffy if I do say so myself

This is Morty's "Go To" photo face for June (as you will see) and Landy found real pants!

Leila Photo Bombed us and it was AWESOME! (Morty is humorless)

The first weekend after school gets out we ALWAYS do the same thing ... CIRCUS FLORA! I love Circus Flora, they have so many acts on high wire that make Mom cringe, sometimes they pull Daddy into the crowd and the snacks are the tastes of summer for sure. My favorite act is the doggie act, the little furry pups are so proud of their moves and can do so many tricks. It makes me want to get a herd of doggies and start training right away!

NOT a great photo, they can't all be magazine quality, right? #RealLife

Can you get a cooler pic? I think not. Doggie act in our LAPS!

SF BOUND!
Per the usual schedule, San Francisco is calling our names and we can't say no. So we packed up our bags and headed west to enjoy all that the Gold Coast has to offer.
Traveling with Mr. June Bug Jones is trying! (Suns out, tongues out!)

Hitting all our happy spots sets the tone for an awesome trip right from
get go. The Ferry Building for Gott's mini corn dogs, ahi tacos & chickie
sandwiches. Boudin's sourdough bread simply cannot be beat, Tartine is
by far the most amazing place for Pan au Chocolat and Mom's treat of
Non-Dairy ice cream by the hotel at Ben & Jerry's isn't half bad either!

ALCATRAZ (dun, dun dunnnnn!)
Sure, it gives both Morty and i nightmares for a solid 6 months after we make the trip but Mom is the only one who is really scarred by this so who cares, right?
The last time we came we were with The Beevors who helped distract us from what the audio tour was really saying but this time we heard every single word and its etched into out brains!

ominous clouds for a creepy location

Morty needed a break while listening to the where the bullet holes were  located

we stuck together, that's when you know we are  really scared

No long trip to SF is complete without a excursion to The Bay Area Discovery Museum so it only makes sense to sign up for summer camp if you can, right? Heck yeah! Morty signed up for the Fort Making and i signed up for FAB Lab: Technology, Coding and 3D Printing. It was pretty much the coolest camp I've ever been to and I can't wait to go back! Check out of the Ozo Bot Mapping I created and the #D printed BADM sign we made!!

Get your "Growth Mindset" in gear!

Mom thought this part was the coolest.

The funniest part pf the trip for me was when Dad would let us use the dreaded "Selfie Stick". He thinks they are down right terrible but when you get photos like these, who cares what a touristy weirdo you look like!!

Until next time San Fran! - Keep it Touristy!
Speaking of great photos - Have I told you how much I love the filters on Snapchat? Mom doesn't let me post anything buts gut busting fun anyhow.

JUNE was just getting underway by the time we headed back to The Lou and so was the heat. Mom and Dad like to keep us busy so we headed out for some tennis lessons. Apparently they don't care about the extreme heat! This is what happens when you play tennis outdoors in St Louis June heat.

Morty's Bird Tooth hung on for dear life

Are we done yet?

After a small break from every day camps we were back at it - this time we signed up for different camps at COCA and we both were able to choose things we liked (indoors!). You wouldn't believe all the options they had - One of the classes i took was about making donuts!!! I kid you not. Morty signed up for making treats. I thought for sure our parents would say no but they clearly didn't read the fine print.

Celia, Me and Stella made some wicked dones

Who wouldn't love to take classes on how to make treats?!

June is for Father's Day too.
We love Daddy through and through - even if he prefers NPR to music in the car or when he steals candy from our stash. Our stinky feet professing our love should be proof enough.

Did we ever tell you that Nono used to live right next to the smallest Dwarf Mini horse that has ever existed and his best Friend is a grey Persian cat? Okay, I know this sounds like a made up story but its not and we have photos to prove it. Thumbelina is the name of the mini dwarf horse and she is hysterical. Morty and I ran into her one evening after swimming at Nono's with Gamma. It was Magical with a capital M!!

The end of June can be bittersweet too. It means that we are about to head east to Cape Cod. Of course that's also a HUGE highlight of our year but it means less time with Maeve and that's hard to wrap my head around. She is the Frick to my Frack. She gets all my jokes and we have each others back. As a fun little send off Mom took the two of us to one of my favorite places for some
"NO brothers allowed time".  I taught Maeve about this thing called "Patience" - when it came to dry time and she made me giggle all the while.

Back away!

Smiling is sooooo overrated

Next up is July - the BEST BEST BEST month pf the year and if you've been a fan for at least a year you probably know why. It starts with Birth and ends with Day!!
