Cape Cod 2015, part 1

Summer doesn't officially start in my world until we hit the beach in Cape Cod. There's something about the smells, sounds, foods and proximity to the beach that makes me feel like summer has commenced. The family becomes one big group there and we embrace every minute of it, we  even count down the days once school is out. Morty gets a calendar so he can actually cross of the days until we get there, practically giddy in the days leading up to our departure. This year he even exclaimed "when I get there, I'm going to run up to my bed and kiss it!"

This year was different from the years past. It started off bright and shiny and we have the photos and memories to prove it!

The boys had matching mini trunks, dug in the sand, boogie boarded and ran on the rocks (even though they have been told for 5+ years not to!)

We hung out at Nono's on the gloomy days - going through his trash to find treasures like his old broken glasses, we made like new : )

We soaked up the sun, were bitten by the green head flies, collected shells and swam.

We went for walks on the beach, found shark bitten, dead seals that washed ashore and talked the biologists, hoping they would give us reason why the Sharks weren't going to come in to our little beach.

We practiced our "selfie" skills so we could play My Idol on the iPads for hours!

We hid behind mom and under rocks when dad lead us until rain storms on the beach at "Pectin Heaven". Morty - being the weirdo he is actually like the cold, windy rain beating on him.

The summer was off to a great start!!
