Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon

One of my favorite times of year is when the Great St a Louis Balloon Glow race happens.

This year we checked in on the Energizer Bunny. You may remember a couple years ago when this bunny made the sad mistake of plopping itself in Nono's backyard. It was cool for us but I think the crew realized what they were getting themselves into. For those of you don't know - all the balloons chase "the hare" once the race begins!

It's so amazing to walk among of the giant balloons as they fill them up. They even make Daddy look small!! We go early and look around before the true chaos of 10,000 walking around in the dark starts. 

When the sky begins to darken someone sounds an air horn and all the balloons (maybe 50 of them!) all pull on their burner to make the hot air and everything GLOWS!! It's so magical! They do it every 15 minutes and it never gets old!
