Spotty Orange

The other day mom was driving home after dropping us off at school and noticed there was a box turtle in the middle of the road, nearly being run over three times. Mom is notorious for putting and herself and us in harms way to save a stray dog but saving a "stray" turtle was something new. 

Meet Spotty Orange the three toed box turtle

He is obviously a very dapper fellow and not timid at all. Mom plopped him in the front seat and took him home so we could see check him out and decide is he needed a new home. Muppet was kind enough to babysit until we got home from school.

Mort was the first one home and he was given the task of feeding our little friend strawberries, grapes and apple. Spotty even let Morty pet his legs, head and feet. He didn't even try to recoil in his shell or poop/pee on him - Morty even checked to see if he had a "peeper" at all. 

When I got home I was able to hold him and say hi but shortly thereafter mom decided we needed to return him to the creek so he be with his friends.
