An artist by the name of Ai Wei Wei had an exhibit up in a part of "The Rock" we'd never been in before. It as so cool. It was all about Freedom, being imprisoned by a government just for speaking ones mind !! Thank goodness we live in the USA or I'm sure I would have been locked up as soon as I could speak!!

Yay for Spring break!!
Spring Break couldn't come a moment too soon! I will tell you all about it - but the part in dying to talk about first was our visit to Alcatraz! This time was completely different as there was an art exhibit that took my breath away!
Winter Catch Up, Part 4
The end but of the Winter was quite memorable as well, but definitely more low key. I think mom was running out of steam and the weather was getting pretty dreary but we still had a great time!
My Famous American project was finally done and I'm proud to say that I did a relatively incredible job at portraying Ms. Clara Barton. I'm like the spitting image of her, right?!
Not sure why Maeve's Sacajawea looks so sad but I think Maeve's enthusiasm made up for it!!
We made homentashin with Jane & Hopie. I can't wait for Purim again next year!
I think the Nutella & chocolate chips are way better than the dried fruit any day!!
NoNo had his 80th birthday. how cool!!!!!
Is that? And what's better than an 80th birthday?!! A PINK 80th birthday.
Leila and I were really pink pink pink !'
Morty got his first boy band haircut and was thoroughly pleased with himself.
He even chose the hair style all by himself. He looks older - don't you think?
After months of Working on Destination Imagination we performed it at an EIGHT Hour day convention/competition. It was a long day but I was super excited for Uni-Carrot to be recognized!
Jane and I even took home medals for all our hard work. The parents were pretty excited too .... But that might have been due to getting out of there before night fall.
We were finally old enough to visit the insanely treacherous City Museum.
We came out alive but mom hasn't been the same since!
We finished off the winter with a fun, sunny day at the Zoo. We waited for over 52 minutes (not that we were counting) for a train ride but it was well worth it in the end.
Let Spring Break Commence!! We are soooooooo ready!!
Winter Catch up, Part 3
Looking back now, winter has exhausted me all over again with the amount of stuff we had going on. Don't get me wrong, I loved 95% of it but jeez, we really packed it in!
Winter field hockey started up again - indoor this time! It's my favorite because the ball moves FAST! Stella is awesome at making the goals and I'm not to bad at defense - so we make a great team!
We finally visited the new addition at the St Louis Art Museum and I went to meet an "Old" friend! (get it? Old? Ha - I kill me!) Check out her bandages hanging out of her sarcophagus!!! Creepy cool!
Dads and Dudes day at school was awesome with daddy bouncing around from each of our classrooms. He even danced with Morty, Tikey & Landon in the JK room!
Morty finally started basket ball. He said he had been "waiting all his life" to get to play and was actually pretty good at it and scored points at every game!
My half birthday was a great time! We had an unexpected celebration at the American Girl Doll store where we all had dinner (and CAKE!) while the dolls got their hair done!
We had an impromptu photo shoot with the selfie cam at Starbucks one day. Maeve really knows how to work the camera! The day after this - I lost the snaggle tooth you can see sticking out of my mouth (totally grossed out my parents! Ha!)
Much to Daddy's Surprise we went to Petsmart one day and came home with Mr. Benjamin Poops the baby bearded dragon! He was sooooooooo cute and we couldn't stop laughing about how silly he was, running around with poop stuck on him while waggling his body against the glass. We were in stitches on the pet store floor!
4 weeks later Mr Poops found a new home ... Turns out lizards often carry salmonella and need to be fed three times a day with live crickets!
Landy Dandy joined in on the Tuesday afternoon gymnastics & dinner shenanigans - soooo much fun!!
Morty and I discovered not only did we have a jacuzzi tub in the basement but that my old swim suits fit Morty a little too well. Again - I was peeing myself with laughter!
After much waiting / the snow came and the sleds were pulled out! It was a morning full of laughter, panting & tears... As usual!
Mom and I even went to spy on Oma & Bubbas old house. It was really cool, like a time warp!
More to come!!!
Winter Catch up, Part 2
Another incredible first was going to Cape Cod for Christmas and New Years Eve!
It was even better than we hoped! The weather was warmer than St Louis, the bike trails were open, the sun was shining and we had fun with the whole family!
The beach was just waiting for us!
We strung popcorn for the fake tree that didn't drop needles everywhere AND there were presents under the tree!!
We made pizelle cookies, wore our Jammies all day, wrapped gifts and baked cookies!
We went for long walks in our rain boots and searched for shells. (Of course Morty always got wet though, even though he we all told him repeatedly about hypothermia!)
We all got new bikes and dad named mom's bike The Sea Pig, because it was so heavy and slow! Of course, this didn't stop him from getting on it and riding around to break it in after he put it together. He just cant resist a blue bike!
The group of young-ish Family members took a day trip out to Provincetown to see how the fun people live. We found awesome shops and super yummy eats.
We discovered new beach cliffs and pulled out our jazz hands to show our excitement while wearing our new Provincetown scarves!
When the entertainment was dying down, we pulled out all our underwear and did what any kid would do ... We made masks! Duh!
To round out the trip - we had a scrumptious New Years Eve dinner together and ate every sweet we could find while staying up late! = SUCCESS !!
I can't wait to go do it all again next year! Why have we been stuck in the Lou every Christmas before?!!
Winter catch up, part 1
Quick winter catch up part 1
I know I have been delinquent in keeping you up to date but we have been on the GO! and mom/dad have decided it's better to enjoy the moment when it's happening, rather than posting about it at the time - this makes it harder for Morty & I to get away with things when they are paying too much attention ... but that's life!
Winter was full of firsts and they were all pretty awesome!
We went on the Polar Express train to the "North Pole" (which apparently is only 1 mile from Union Station in St.Louis?! - ya right!!!!) We even got to wear out Jammies & robes!!!
The best part was when the waiter & waitress ran up & down the aisles singing, dancing and spilling hot chocolate. Dad was beyond thrilled with the whole adventure!
The Holiday cards Magboot & Mr Uncle Todd helped us with were a huge hit! We thought they were the best yet!
Snowfkake brought her new friend "brownie the reindeer" to come spy on us (as if we don't get into trouble enough!!) and she also made friends with La Dee Da while we slept. They had a little too much fun if you ask me!!
We visited "Santa" at the mall. We checked to see if his beard was real (it was!) but we were pretty sure this couldn't be the real Santa... waiting around all day - doing nothing while the elves did all the work!? That would be just plain rude.
While Mom and dad escaped to San Fran (so Dad could run 50 MILES straight through the Marin Headlands = crazy in the head!!) Samantha picked up the slack & took us to make holiday gingerbread houses!
This was only the beginning of our winter escapades ---- stay tuned!!
