Cool Alternatives....

Have I mentioned that it's hot out? Well it is! So, mom and I decided that we had to try something new today: we had to find someone with some air conditioning! So, we packed up our party ribbons and hit the road for some....

Johnny Rockets? Nope, I'd never heard of them either, but mom said they had fries and milk shakes, so I was down! Ok...so where's the grub? Mom, you want to see what? Ok, let me get this straight, you want to see how I would respond if told that they were out of fries? Ok....

How about some big pouty lips? Ok, can I eat now? My grilled cheese and fries are not getting any fresher!

Today is all about this pretty lady below here....so, we're going to take a break from complaining about this ungodly heat, and talk about my main homey....

You see, today is my sand-box buddy's 30th Birthday!

Yep, just like last year, my favorite Sherpa is celebrating the day of her birth - May 6, 1979 - so we are going to praise her as one should! I kind of feel like she turned 30 last year, but if mom says it's her 30th Birthday, far be it for me to argue with the best person in the world!

So, if you would, please join with me, for my most favorite dinner date...

Have I told you lately that it's hot as hell up in this city?! Dear god...it just gets hotter and hotter all day....and NO ONE has any air conditioning! So, mom found another solution. Sure, I've had ice cream before....but only when mom or dad would give me a spoonful of theirs....but this was different...this was new....this was exciting....my very own ice cream on a....editable platform!

First impressions......nice....very nice.....very very nice actually....

You my new friend...you are.....how can I put my feelings into words? How can I translate for my taste buds?

Hmmmmm......I don't know that I possess the words to describe how awesome this ice cream is on a hot day....are there even words in the English language to describe such a coalescing of sugar, ice, milk, cream and air temperature? I can only think of one....

So, as the day progressed, I finally decided that perhaps I had enough time in the pool, I needed to dry my pruney self off. But, what happened as soon as I got out and turned my back on the pool?! Look for yourself!

That barbarian of a sloth got in my pool and wallowed! Um, hello? This is not a communal pool! This is MY pool! Get out! So, as I rushed out to rescue my pool with Brown Dog in hot pursuit...then it went from bad to worse...

Dammit! GET! OUT! OF! MY! POOL!

Yes, I'm talking to you! You are furry! My pool isn't....errr....wasn't!

Don't give me that look! I don't care how hot you are! MY POOL!

And you father....oh, how I expected better! Surely you of all people should understand the difference between mine and not mine! Oh....you'll be hearing about this later....say, 4:00 AM? How's that work for you? How about 3:00am?

You know how I got sun burned yesterday? Well...it looks like we are due for about a week of heat and sun. Generally, this would be just fine, in fact it would be awesome! But, we don't have any AC and because of the way the house is set up, by about 5:00pm, my room is roasting in the mid-90s. So, we have to find out ways to cooooool off!

As you saw yesterday, mom was nice enough to go out and get me a small pool. Me likey!

Ah....nothing better than cool feet and a cool drink!

Too much sun....

Lord....I need to rehydrate....more electrolytes.....too much sun today. It seemed so nice at the time, so sunny, so nice and warm....such a rare day.....but I think I got to much of the goodness.

Look at my cheeks! Can't you see how rosy they are? I'm burned! If I get skin cancer in 40 years, I'm coming after you!

We're having a heat wave!

Hey Brown Dog, you hot? Lord knows I am! So guess what we're going to do to solve our problem.....

We're going streaking! Ha! Awesome right? What? Oh, you can't take off your clothes? Well....that sucks.

Have to say, I feel bad for Brown Dog....but not so bad that I'm going to invite him to sit down in my new pool with me and float away the day!

Grammy came to town!

This past week my Grammy from the Los Angeles area drove up to visit me and see how fat my Mom is getting (at least someone else is aware of this problem) We had a great time together, she really knows how to play and have fun! Mom thought it would be fun to play and have lunch on Corte Madera, so off we went!

Grammy was great at keeping me occupied and laughing so that Mommy's impending cold could take its course. Thank goodness people have their priorities straight around here!
